27 年前的 COMDEX 展會，微軟 Windows 98 的全球直播發佈會堪稱科技史上最著名的「炒車」現場。當時，比爾・蓋茨攜團隊亮相，計劃演示 Windows 98 革命性的 USB 即插即用功能，這一功能本是系統的核心亮點。<\/p>\n

<\/a>然而，當演示人員插上 USB 裝置的瞬間，屏幕突然彈出經典的藍畫面，現場陷入尷尬。台上的微軟高管 Chris Capossela 手足無措，比爾・蓋茨則以一句幽默的「這大概是為什麼 Windows 98 還未正式發佈的原因吧」巧妙化解了緊張氣氛。<\/p>\n

事後經開發團隊排查，真相終於浮出水面。原來，Windows 98 的 USB 代碼當時仍處於測試階段，相關協議規範尚未正式發佈。開發團隊原本在實驗室用特定掃描儀反復測試，確認操作安全可行，但演講團隊卻臨時更換了裝置，從當地電腦商店購買了一台未經測試的全新掃描儀。<\/p>\n

這部新裝置在與系統進行 USB 電源協商時，虛報自身為 USB 總線供電裝置（承諾功耗不超過 500mW），實際所需電力卻遠超該上限。這種未被預判的錯誤情況，直接導致 USB 子系統崩潰，引發藍畫面。<\/p>\n
