11月21日，第十五届全国运动会组委会在深圳召开新闻发布会，介绍比赛总体运行情况。 十五运会开赛以来，各代表团公平竞争，各项目精彩纷呈，一批优异成绩集中涌现，一批优秀人才脱颖而出。 本届全运会在田径、游泳、射击、举重、场地自行车、攀岩等有成绩纪录的项目中，创造8项世界纪录、5项世界青年纪录、13项亚洲纪录、10项亚洲青年纪录、14项全国纪录，7项全国青年纪录，12个小项夺冠成绩超过巴黎奥运会冠军成绩，全面展示了我国竞技体育发展成就。 37个参赛代表团中，有31个代表团获得金牌、35个代表团获得奖牌。 广东、山东、浙江、江苏、上海、福建等东部沿海地区在十五运上充分展示了参赛项目全、参赛人数多、人才厚度深的综合实力； 湖北、北京、四川等省份，在各自优势项目上也取得了较好成绩； 其他地区结合自身实际，集中资源力量发展特色项目、重点项目并不断取得新突破，河北、河南、贵州、广西、宁夏等代表团在本届全运会上比赛成绩进步明显，进一步推动了我国竞技体育区域间均衡发展。 本届全运会群众赛事活动设23个大项166个小项，共有1.1万名“民间高手”参加全运会群众赛事活动决赛，覆盖范围广，包括学生、工人、农牧民、教师、医护人员、警察、个体工商户、自由职业者、退休人员等各类群体；年龄最大81岁，最小8岁。他们在全运会舞台上展现了风采，切磋了技艺，增进了友谊，提升了广大人民群众的参与感、获得感和幸福感，全体参赛人员均获得参赛证书，留下了难忘经历，有力带动了全民健身蓬勃开展。
