第76屆國際足總理事會本週在溫哥華舉行，所有211個成員國的代表都會出席，至少理論上是如此，因為伊朗官員尚未進入加拿大，且在「移民官員的不可接受行為」後撤回。德黑蘭塔斯尼姆通訊社最初報導的一份聲明指出，伊朗足協及其主席梅赫迪·塔吉， 秘書長赫達亞特·蒙貝尼與副秘書長哈米德·莫梅尼 「因機場移民官員的不可接受行為及對伊朗武裝部隊最光榮機構之一的侮辱，搭乘首班航班返回土耳其」。<\/p>\n

在擔任伊朗足球協會主席之前，梅赫迪·塔吉曾是伊斯蘭革命衛隊（IRGC）成員，該組織在加拿大被列為恐怖組織。Taj 獲得特別許可，僅在 FIFA 活動期間入境加拿大，否則他將無法入境。<\/p>\n

然而，伊朗官員似乎因移民當局的待遇而決定經土耳其返回伊朗，儘管加拿大外交部長安妮塔·阿南德表示，他們是「無意中」被拒絕入境的。<\/p>\n
