1972年6月7日，IBM 的兩位工程師，獲得磁碟和磁碟機技術的兩項美國專利，編號3668658A，中文名稱為「磁記錄磁盤保護套」(magnetic record disk cover)。<\/p>\n

<\/a>實際上 IBM 在 1971年就量產了磁碟及配套驅動器，組成完整的存儲方案。也就是說，磁碟已經誕生55年。<\/p>\n

IBM 在 1967年啓動「Project Minnow」項目，目標是開發便攜存儲裝置。IBM 的想法是製作一款表面塗有磁性材料的聚酯軟磁盤，用戶可以將其從插槽插入磁盤驅動器，通過轉軸帶動旋轉，取代更古老的磁帶和穿孔卡片媒介，可作為流動存儲介質使用。<\/p>\n

除此之外，IBM 設置目標，裝置成本要控制在 200美元以內，單張成本在 5美元以內。<\/p>\n

早期的磁碟尺寸為 8吋，僅僅可以容納 80KB 數據。雖然存儲的信息較少，但也是相當 3000張穿孔卡片，是存儲技術飛躍的里程碑。<\/p>\n

1977年，IBM 成功量產 5.25吋磁碟，搭載於 Apple 第二代電腦 Apple II。新款磁碟採用了史蒂夫·沃茲尼亞克(Steve Wozniak)研發的分組編碼記錄技術(Group Coded Recording)，容量進一步提升至140KB。<\/p>\n

此後，1978年 Tandon 公司生產推出雙面磁碟和磁碟機，容量達到 360KB。1984年，IBM 推出高密度版 5.25吋磁碟，容量達到 1.2MB。後續 IBM 再次進行改進，容量提升到 1.44MB，這便是大規模使用的 1.44MB 3.5吋磁碟。
\nIBM 數據顯示，上世紀90年代的巔峰時期，磁碟一年就可以賣出超過50億張！<\/p>\n

電腦技術在 90年代末開始飛速發展，1998年 Apple 的新款 iMac 取消內置磁碟機，正式開啓光碟機和 USB 手指的時代。<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n
