批評聲浪迅速蔓延，負責所謂修復的地方教區也承認，修復並未如預期進行。不久之後，新油漆被移除，雕像恢復至先前的白色外觀。教區也宣布，現在計劃聘請專門從事修復工作的人員來重做這項工程。<\/p>\n
