現在，日本角色扮演遊戲系列《魔界戰記》的創作者新川宗平也對此發表了看法，並得出了一個頗為令人驚訝的結論。他認為如果 PlayStation 主機不提供實體遊戲，索尼乾脆直接停產。在 2026 年動漫博覽會接受 Noisy Pixel 採訪時，他說：<\/p>\n

「我認為實體版遊戲非常重要。對粉絲來說，能夠將自己熱愛的遊戲當作物品保存，價值非常大。它成為與他們重要事物相關的回憶或紀念品。」<\/p>\n

話雖如此，他理解這項決定背後的商業考量，但同時也認為實體遊戲對球迷來說有著高層尚未完全理解的意義：<\/p>\n

「從純粹商業角度來看，我能理解索尼的人為什麼會做出這個決定。然而，決定這件事的高層大概從未體驗過像動漫博覽會這樣的活動，然後有人拿著實體遊戲來請簽名。<\/p>\n

我覺得他們不理解那些粉絲的感受，也可能從未想過實體版對珍視它們的人意味著什麼。」<\/p>\n

因此，新川表示索尼乾脆直接停產主機：<\/p>\n

「如果他們要取消實體包裝，那硬體也該取消。一台電視就夠了。你為什麼需要主機？<\/p>\n

如果你要取消實體遊戲，那就直接玩到底吧。」<\/p>\n
