\t\t\t\t\t\t雖然我們可能會把Concord和Highguard這類遊戲當作討論失敗現場服務專案時最無聊的對象，但英雄射擊遊戲並不是唯一昂貴且花費高昂的作品。Redfall 是一款由知名工作室製作的合作線上服務遊戲，但慘敗導致 Arkane Austin 不幸關閉。<\/p>\n

在接受《 The Game Business》採訪時Redfall ，導演兼 Arkane 資深人士 Harvey Smith 談到工作室正被「遊戲即服務」的理念「捲入」。 「[Redfall ] 是一個困難的專案。Arkane 非常專業化，但產業正在成長，總有更多人要養活。而且當你能觸及更廣泛的觀眾群時，這真的很棒。我們被遊戲即服務的潮流捲入，我還愚蠢地以為這一切總是對我們有利。我們可以做到的。讓我們把我們熱愛的東西，和[遊戲即服務]混合起來。白天和晚上做不同的機制。還有角色職業。然後就在這一切中間，COVID爆發了。我們也經歷了大規模辭職，大家都轉到遠端工作，開始換工作，」 史密斯說。<\/p>\n

史密斯從這次經驗中學到了正面的教訓。在 Redfall 發行的隔年，Arkane Austin 修復了數千個錯誤，甚至在 Xbox 上已經無法運作時仍釋出了更新。 「我們在那個漫長且充滿問題的專案中經歷的，當時我明顯偏離了自己的方向，沒有在做我應該做的事情上……我最驕傲的時刻之一，就是看到球隊在極其艱難的挑戰中團結起來，」 史密斯說。<\/p>\n

目前，Smith 正與長期合作夥伴 Ben Horne 在新工作室 Black Pony Interactive 合作。他們將持續開發更多熟悉的技術，創造新的單人沉浸式模擬遊戲，因為他們現在已經明白遊戲即服務（Game-as-a-Service）並不在他們的強項。<\/p>\n
